How Rain & Raven Began

Sometimes the most meaningful things begin quietly.

Rain & Raven didn’t start with a big business plan or a polished idea.
It started in the middle of ordinary life — work, motherhood, and conversations between two women trying to live their faith in the everyday moments.

Megan and I worked together for a season of our lives. Like so many friendships that grow in shared spaces, ours was built in the in-between moments — quick conversations, encouragement on hard days, and the kind of understanding that comes from walking through similar seasons of life.

We’re both 36, but our lives look a little different.

Megan is raising two little ones under five. She works part-time as an assistant, but like most moms of young kids, her real full-time job is motherhood. The rest of the time she squeezes in entrepreneurial dreams wherever life allows.

I’m raising a teenage son, building a career in life insurance, and spending most of my spare time cooking and baking from scratch for my family. Entrepreneurship lives in the margins of my life too — in the evenings, early mornings, and the quiet moments when the house slows down.

In the middle of those busy lives, we kept coming back to the same conversation.

How do we slow down enough to be intentional with our faith?

Not in big dramatic ways — but in the quiet daily rhythms.
Opening scripture.
Writing a reflection.
Planning the day with purpose.

We realized we weren’t the only ones asking that question.

So many people want to grow in their faith, but life moves fast. Between work, kids, responsibilities, and everything else, it’s easy for those quiet moments with God to get pushed to the edges.

That’s where the idea for Rain & Raven began.

Not as a brand first — but as a desire to create something that helps people return to those quiet moments.

The name itself comes from a story that has always stayed with us.

In 1 Kings 17, the prophet Elijah is hiding in the wilderness during a difficult season. God provides for him in a way that feels almost unexpected — ravens bring him food morning and evening.

It’s such a simple moment in scripture, but it reminds us that God often shows up in quiet, surprising ways.

Those moments of provision — big or small — are what we’ve started calling Raven Moments.

The unexpected encouragement.
The provision that arrives at the right time.
The reminder that God is present even in ordinary days.

Rain & Raven is being built around that idea.

Not perfection.
Not having life figured out.

Just creating a space where people can come as they are, reflect honestly, and build small daily rhythms that keep them rooted in faith.

We’re still building.

The planners are being designed.
The journals are taking shape.
The ideas are growing slowly, one step at a time.

And along the way, we hope to build a community of people walking the same path — learning, growing, and paying attention to the quiet ways God moves in everyday life.

If you’re here reading this, welcome.

You’re part of the story now.
